Something a Little Different..

I've put this up for sale in the shop:

Poetry Notebook

I made this over a few days over the weekend. Was just trying out new features; size, closures, bits of text. I'm happy with it. =) I'm thinking of adding elastic bands to the notebooks i make so it can be closed securely while in bags etc. Looks like a trip to Spotlight is in order.

My friend Meilse, who's getting married in September, donated some navy blue cardstock so you will see more of them in the shop. She decided not to use them as her wedding stationery, but was happy to pass them on to me. Isn't she sweet? =) Thanks Meilse...

It's my favourite poem, the so-called "Daffodils". It's also featured in one of my favourite books of all time, "The Eyre Affair". Funny book, try it.

I WANDERED LONELY AS A CLOUD

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

and twinkle on the Milky Way,

They stretched in never-ending line

along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced;

but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay, in such a jocund company:

I gazed - and gazed - but little thought

what wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.

Til later. I'm going dancing with the daffodils. =D

  4. Thanks Leah! =)

    Vickie, thank you. Do you like the Jack Spratt series too? I like that as well. Can't wait for Fforde to drop into Oz again.

    Momo, no it's blank inside. Encouraging the user to "flash upon the inward eye". =D

    Thanks for comments, guys!
